Made-to-Order + Fulfillment Details
All Rare Breed Maui apparel and accessories are made-to-order - meaning your item is created once your order is placed. This process is intentional, sustainable, and helps us minimize waste while honoring our ʻāina.
Most orders are completed within 8-14 business days (the average in the last 6 months being 8 days or less) after purchase, and after fulfillment is complete, your item will ship. Depending on the shipping method you selected, delivery can take several days or weeks. Because items may be made in different facilities, some parts of your order might arrive separately.
Shipping Methods & Timing
We ship via trusted carriers like: USPS, DHL, UPS, and FedEx
- Domestic (U.S.) - Once fulfilled, standard shipping usually takes 5-7 business days. Please see our note on *Ground Advantage to the State of Hawaii below.
- International - Once fulfilled, most orders take 2-3 weeks.
- Shipping times can vary based on location, weather, and customs processing.
Please plan accordingly, especially for special events. A clear production timeline helps manage expectations before checkout.
*GROUND ADVANTAGE TO HAWAII: Please note that Ground Advantage to the State of Hawaii yields a long shipping even if coming from the States. On average some of our customers as well as ourselves have experienced 3 weeks of wait time. Our overseas printed items that take 8-15 days are counted by business days. We apologize for the inconvenience of shipping. We know you are excited to receive your items and do our best to have them shipped so you can receive them as quickly as possible.
Customs & International Fees
Customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees that may be charged upon delivery. Rare Breed Maui is not responsible for these charges.
Order changes, Cancellations & Refunds
Because all items are made-to-order, we do not offer cancellations, refunds, or exchanges once an order is placed and production begins. Our policies support ethical production, sustainability, and reducing textile waste - values that are the core to our brand and our work as creators.
In rare situations where an exception is granted, a production and processing fee may apply as well as forfeiture of the shipping costs you paid at the time of your order. These fees help to offset the costs of the materials, labor, and handling already invested in making your item, as well as any additional costs that come with rerouting or returning the item since we do no have a physical location.
Refunds (if approved) are issued after returned items reach us, and typically take 7-14 business days to appear in your account - in some cases up to 23 business days depending on your bank or payment provider.
